Vehicle maintenance

A well maintained car will permit a driver to get the most out of hypermiling. Refer to your vehicle's manual for maintenance instructions.

Check list.

1) Tyres are not under-inflated.

2) Wheels are balanced and aligned so your vehicle runs as smoothly as possible.

3) Brake pads operate smoothly so the car doesn't slow down erratically when the brakes are applied. Brake fluid is topped up to recommended mark.

4) Engine oil above minimum mark. You can use a recommended low viscosity oil so the engine doesn't have to battle against a more viscose oil.
